1. Find when growth began
Compare the storage graph and task history. Look for backup jobs, camera setting changes, or failed synchronization at the same time.
2. Check recycle bins and versions
Shared-folder bins, sync history, and backup retention can consume more space than file-browser totals suggest.
3. Review snapshots carefully
Snapshots retain changed or deleted blocks. Check retention and locked recovery points before removing them in bulk.
4. Verify CCTV rotation
Confirm camera count, bitrate, and retention settings. If automatic rotation stopped, inspect NVR logs and permissions.
5. Clean up in a reversible order
- Unneeded installers and duplicate downloads
- Verified recycle-bin contents
- Old versions after reviewing policy
- Snapshots only after confirming recovery needs
Do not delete internal filesystem folders directly over SSH. Use the vendor's storage tools.
